The Avector Community Group, Inc. Grant Per Diem (GPD) Transitional Living Program offers full service transitional housing and supportive, wrap-around services for veterans seeking a safe, sober, uplifting and encouraging living and learning environment. With our GPD, Veterans come first! Our program is dedicated to fostering physical and mental health stability while ensuring resident safety and care. Our GPD Transitional Living Program operates across various locations in San Bernardino county including Victorville, Adelanto, Barstow, and San Bernardino. Housing is clean, spacious, well furnished, close to the bus-line, and comfortable. We offer 24/7 on-site management to supervise and assist. Through our community partnerships, we offer access to NA/AA meetings and support groups. Our goal is your success!


In addition, Avector Community Group, Inc. arranges free transportation services to assist veteran residents in attending VA appointments, job interviews, and accessing other community resources.

  • Residential stability of participants with exit to permanent housing
  • Increased skills and income levels of participants with exit to competitive employment
  • Greater self-determination of participants

Referrals to community resources

Nutritious meals and snacks

On-site, 24-hour supervision

On-site washer and dryer

On-site computer access and free wi-fi

With Medical and Mental Health Services Provided Through the Loma Linda VA Medical Center

Target Population & Eligibility

Our GPD Transitional Living Program is designed to assist homeless veterans. Services are provided in the Loma Linda VA Medical Center catchment area.


  • Veterans must be homeless or at-risk of homelessness to qualify
  • Veterans must have served on active military duty with other than dishonorable discharge
  • A referral will be completed and medical, mental health, substance abuse and criminal history will be reviewed for appropriate placement
  • Veteran does not have to have an income at time of intake
  • Veteran must test negative for COVID and/or TB prior to facility entry
  • Veterans must be able to perform all Activities of Daily living on their own


Veteran Commitment:

  • Engage in supportive Case Management services
  • Weekly one-on-one meetings with Case Managers
  • Participate in daily, living-skills classes
  • Participate in Employment and Training Program and/or apply for state or federal benefits
  • Agree to follow program rules and procedures
  • Participate in nutrition and financial management classes
  • Willing to address barriers related to physical and mental health 
  • Willing to make a commitment to work toward living in permanent housing
  • Abstinent of street drugs and alcohol while in the program
  • Agree to random drug testing
  • Agree to random room inspections
